TEST RESULTS BRIEF AS AT 30 JANUARY 2014


In Service Test Results

  • Locomotive (fitted with JIKA) 56 000 km done since fitted with JIKA on the 30 August 2013.
  • Reference locomotive (not fitted with JIKA) coupled to JIKA Locomotive.
  • Current wheel wear rate on JIKA Locomotive gives a projected wheel life of 1 600 000 km.
  • Current wheel wear rate on now JIKA Locomotive gives a projected wheel life of 351 000 km.
  • JIKA PHS wheel life improvement is 1 600 000 / 351 000 = 4.6.

Latest wheel wear readings taken on the 24 January 2014.


Design Improvements

  • Improved concept design piston rod arrangement complete.
