DCD Marine Cape Town welcomes
Transocean's Sedco 702 to Saldanha Bay

Sedco 702 Rig

DCD Marine Cape Town has been appointed as the main contractor to undertake the special periodic survey (SPS) for the Transocean Sedco702 in SaldanhaBay.

The DCD Marine team eagerly awaits the arrival of the semi-submersible rig set to arrive on the 9thNovember 2013 as it will be the first project since the launch of the SaldanhaIndustrial Development Zone (IDZ).

The month of October has seen the arrival of the Transocean team in Cape Town. Meticulous planning has gone into this project to ensure safety expectations are met, that the project stays within budget and on-time delivery of the vessel is achieved.

The Transocean and DCD Marine teams and their respective contractors initiated a Safety Day on the 3rdNovember 2013 whereby potential project risks were assessed and various solutions were identified. This also helped to promote a 'One Team, One Goal' approach which will set the tone for the successful execution of the project.
