Recognising the intrinsic value in good people, DCD actively supports the development of people-oriented systems, for instance the World Best Practices which has secured ongoing above-average performance and continued growth.
DCD is proud to be an active participant in the SA labour market, creating new jobs and increasing the skills pool particularly for the sectors in which it operates. DCD operates in markets which bear the brunt of artisan shortage and recognising the importance of fast-tracking skills development, DCD has invested R35 million in a proprietary Public Benefit Organisation (“PBO”).
The PBO has devised programmes which substantially reduce the time period to convert trainees into productive workers. The programmes focus on specific work needs, processes and methodologies.
In addition DCD has ongoing education and training initiatives aimed at multi-skilling employees at all levels, and a mentor programme that ensures real skills transfer and capacity building throughout the organisation. This approach underscores DCD’s commitment to providing not merely jobs, but careers for its employees.
DCD recognises that integrating transformation into business practice is crucial for the sustainability of the group and SA generally. In line with this the group is deeply committed to transformation and provides equal opportunities for fair treatment of all employees.
